Snyder is an active artist residing once again in his native West Virginia after an extended period in Florida. Often questioning the boundaries of the canvas, there is a play between construction, color and design at the core of George Snyder’s work. This exhibition will feature acrylic works on tailor made canvases crafted by the experienced hand of the artist. Snyder is known for his unique style and pioneering techniques with the media. His work transforms the rectangle, triangle and cylinder with sections of brilliant color, exploring the boundaries of design while ever aware of strong lines. He begins his material choices in a seemingly traditional manner which he extends outside the norm by enhancing his shaped canvases with a meticulous application of acrylic. Most recently, the ever innovative Snyder employs the use of PVC and automotive paint to obtain a sleek and modern surface in his three-dimensional creations.  Snyder’s works are bold, precise and clever, blending realism with abstract expressionism.

His art hangs in the permanent collections of General Electric, Federal Express and UpJohn Corporation, as well as in the private collections of Peter Nero, Andre Agassi, Jack Palance, and Dennis Rodman. His work is in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, AL, New Orleans Museum of Art in New Orleans, LA and the Vero Beach Center for the Arts in Florida.
