A Special FestivALL Event

The Art Store kicks off it’s warm weather gallery activities with Summer Salon: collections of works by our represented artists. Every few weeks throughout the summer we will feature the works of several artists. It’s a great way to see what’s fresh from the studio - or those last couple of pieces from a series.

The first big event will be ArtWalk FestivALL on Thursday, June 21 from 5 to 8 PM. This will be the public’s first chance to see our Summer Salon exhibit and a sneak peek of the illustration plates from Tom Beal’s soon to be released book (tomorrow!).

On Friday evening, June 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM The Art Store will host a special book launch & signing party for

“Bara Seal & Emily too” written by Tom Beal* and illustrated by Elea Paybins**, both from Charleston. The original art for the book will be on display and the author and illustrator will be available to talk about the illustrations and sign your book.

Larry Groce, host of Mountain Stage said “Reading this book takes me back to the time when my children were very young, and you never knew what magic would come with the turn of a page. I knew that Tom was a man of many interests—a rock climber, a first-class horn player and a driving force behind the West Virginia Youth

Symphony. Now I’m delighted to find that he’s the author of this new book.”

After Friday the book will be available for sale at Taylor Books on Capitol Street in Charleston.

On Saturday, June 23 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm catch more FestivALL fun and head over to Hale Street to enjoy the Go To Hale event. There will be several food trucks, musical entertainment, the WV Gaming Theater and Race Car, the Good Grand Prix “Anything That Rolls Race” and many other children’s activities to keep everyone entertained. This FestivALL event will be a great addition to Capitol Street Art Fair.
